Stronger Together: Mexican Growers Gather at Grodan’s Designed to Grow Roundtable in Querétaro

With this vision in mind, key leaders from Mexico’s horticultural sector came together in Querétaro for the Designed to Grow Roundtable, an event hosted by Grodan to foster dialogue, share experiences, and build strategic alliances among growers, technical experts, and industry stakeholders.

The roundtable was moderated by Arturo Calderón, Senior Consultant in Agriculture Trade, who led a deep and constructive conversation about the challenges facing horticulture in Mexico, as well as the opportunities that arise when the industry chooses to collaborate rather than compete in isolation.

The event featured the participation of influential voices in the industry, including Jorge del Toro (Finka), Rafael Pizarro (Natura Quality Foods), Thierry Legros and Jesús Cota (Hortigen), Félix Tarrats (Ceickor), Arturo León (Hacienda Fresh), Ricardo Martínez (Asesores en Invernaderos), along with the Grodan team led by Don Courtemanche (VP, Grodan North America).

The discussion focused on shared challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, pest management, pricing pressure, logistics, trade tariffs, security, and the need for technologies adapted to the realities of the Mexican market.

The importance of precision growing tools and sustainability-driven strategies emerged as key pillars of the conversation.
