Joost Haenen, propagation — Joost Haenen, Propagation specialist at Grodan
Joost Haenen, the Propagation Specialist at Grodan, in the Grodan Business Support Team. With a strong crop technical background, Joost offers technical support to propagators using stone wool growing media in high-tech environments. Having previously worked as a crop technical manager for both a propagator and a production company, Joost brings valuable experience to his role. At Grodan, he actively engages in innovation and development projects for propagation, serving as the crucial link between propagators and the company. Joost's passion lies in collaborative efforts with customers, striving to achieve the best possible outcomes together.

Dr. Jack Mooney, CEO of Provenance Propagation, is a pioneering leader in sustainable growing practices with more than 16 years of hands-on experience across agriculture and horticulture. His career has been defined by entrepreneurial drive and a relentless focus on advancing innovative propagation techniques, especially on grafted plants. Jack’s journey blends leadership and practical know-how. Before founding Provenance Propagation, he served as Nursery Manager at Costa for four years. His international experience includes a grower and business management internship at Roelands Plant Farms in Ontario, Canada, where he deepened his expertise in large-scale propagation systems. Academically, Jack holds a PhD from the University of New England, supported by a Bachelor of Rural Science that included research in grafted tomato seedlings. This strong scientific foundation, combined with his operational background, allows him to guide growers in adopting sustainable innovations with confidence and precision. Today, as CEO, Jack continues to push the boundaries of sustainable horticulture, positioning Provenance Propagation as a trusted partner for growers seeking efficiency, resilience, and world-class modern propagation solutions.

Ad Kranendonk, Flier Systems, Asian Propagation Seminar — Ad Kranendonk, Commercial Director of Flier Systems
Ad Kranendonk joined Flier Systems in 1988 and has built extensive expertise across multiple roles within the organization. Since becoming part of the management team in 2005, he has been closely involved in research and development, contributing to innovative automation solutions now used across the globe. He has also advised propagators directly, leading numerous custom automation projects tailored to their specific needs. In his current role as Commercial Director, Ad leads global business development and sales, with a strong focus on supporting the growth of horticulture in international markets, including Asia. At this seminar, he will share his perspective on “What can automation bring in propagation” and looks forward to exchanging insights and opportunities with propagators in Japan and South Korea. About Flier Systems: With nearly 100 years of experience, Flier Systems is a leading specialist in automating production processes for propagators worldwide. The company combines deep-rooted expertise with innovative technology to help customers improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.

Ben Pieterse, Sales Manager Food, Asian Propagation Seminar — Ben Pieterse, Sales Manager Food of TTA-ISO
Ben Pieterse represents TTA-ISO as Sales Manager Food, where he focuses on advancing automation in horticulture and plant propagation. With expertise in grafting technologies and vegetable plant nursery systems, he works to help growers adopt innovative, and efficient ways of growing the best tomato, pepper, and eggplant seedlings. Moreover, he also works on the commercial development of HarvAI, a groundbreaking machine for harvesting truss tomatoes.

Menno Keppel, D.A.T.T.

Started his journey in horticulture at the age of 23 when he founded D.A.T.T., a company that became well known for the tomato brand Take Me Home Tomatoes in Thailand. With limit resources and a lot of struggles to keep plants “a live” and ensure production year-round, D.A.T.T. company started to innovate the way crops are grown in greenhouses in Thailand. Since OUR climate is always too hot or too humid, growers always struggle unless they have access to technology adapted for their situation. With proven concept, Menno Keppel started sharing know-how and expertise to other companies. The Dutch horticulture solutions adapted to local Thai (South East Asia) Climate so that our local growers can use solutions that work, without taking unnecessary risks. The company is building several projects from entry level tropical greenhouses till complete turnkey projects for both indoor, greenhouses and Agri automation.
